Teens and Young Adults

Play Therapy (ages 3 and up)

Using a designed playroom and unique interventions, a specially trained play therapist can delve into the child’s natural world of play to assist them in a non-threatening way with things like problem solving, calming down, finding better ways to express emotions, cooperation, and working through stress responses to separation, abuse or trauma.

Parenting education and support – classes and private consultation

Education on child development, family dynamics, and effective parenting techniques come together in our parenting support services. Our experienced, qualified educators assist clients with marital conflict over parenting, co-parenting after divorce, step- and blended-family issues; as well as reducing arguing, whining, tantrums, acting out, and chaos, and strengthening listening, cooperation, self-control, and problem-solving in the home.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Therapy

Stress reactions to trauma can include flashbacks, sleep disruption and nightmares, fear and panic, anger or violent outbursts, difficulty concentrating or day-to-day functioning and decision-making. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a new, evidence-based practice for treating trauma and is one of many therapies practiced by our team.
